Sometimes a song comes along that's beautiful enough to put me into a stupor. -- Indie Shuffle

a soulful piece of folk orchestration that could fill a stadium packed with awestruck fans. -- The Wild Honey Pie

infectious, funky bit of musical optimism.

--Pop Matters

unique, singularly imaginative… and remarkable.  --Medium.com

a deeply cut and groovy affair anchored with proggy avant garde bass and drums and a bouncy jazz(ish) / meets chamber pop vocal performance all the while having an art rock edge. -- American Pancake

Katmaz is a Brooklyn based musician, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who approaches music visually, resulting in a cinematic quality to his sound.  Creating music for every mood, there's nothing predictable about his songs. He embraces sudden left turns: compositional choices that delight with their unconventionality, departures from sonic expectation, and playful lyrics that are simultaneously amusing, witty, and thought-provoking. Katmaz has expanded his sonic landscape to include more electronic and pop production elements drawing comparisons to Bon Iver and Portugal the Man.

In April of 2016, Katmaz gave a sample of his emotive, soulful strain of music with his first solo release "Nautical Things".  Jason Grishkoff (Indie Shuffle) called it "beautiful enough to put me into a stupor”. In 2018 he released the EP “Tremolo Love” in which the Wild Honey Pie called it “a soulful piece of folk orchestration that could fill a stadium packed with awestruck fans.”   In summer 2019, two of his singles, “Let it Go” and “On to the Next” were featured on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlist. PopMatters premiered Katmaz’s latest music video and Medium.com praised it as “unique, singularly imaginative… and remarkable.”
